New Jersey Scout Museum 3.0
Why do we say NJSM 3.0? When we first opened in the spring of 2004 it was what we have come to call our version 1.0 of the museum. It was a good start but it was not really visually appealing and we wanted to do better. Many years later, 2012 – 2013 , we got rid of all the old furniture and purchase brand new 21st century modern first-class museum grade furniture and thus vision 2.0 was born. In the spring of 2016 when we lost our physical museum space, we started planning on building our own building and thus vison 3.0 was born. More on 3.0 can be found one our site.
The New Jersey Scout Museum is temporarily closed and it’s collections have been moved to secure storage facilities.
We have made arrangements for displays at Quail Hill Scout Reservation so that Scouts and Scouters can enjoy glimpses of the history of Scouting during our building phase.
A formal Capital Construction Campaign will be announced shortly for the construction of NJSM Building at the Quail Hill Scout Reservation in Manalapan, New Jersey but donation will be happily accepted now. If you want details first contact our Curator who is the Chair of the New Building Campign.
More exciting news to follow soon and into 2021 on what we call our Vision 3.0 Strategic Plan for 2020 – 2023 that not only includes the new building but many other exciting changes and projects for our future.

Our History
New Jersey Scout Museum
The New Jersey Scout Museum was created in 2004 and is a non-profit corporation of the State of New Jersey (IRS 501(c) 3). The Museum is not affiliated with the BSA or GSUSA. All funds for our operating expenses come from donations and memberships (“Friends of the Museum”). Monmouth Council BSA graciously provides our public exhibition space.
The Museum is open to the public and admission is free (a donation is appreciated for groups).
